coming soon: community-inspired acupuncture on robinson street
Hello, Friends. Kenzie & Elizabeth here with an exciting announcement.
where we’ve been
We started collaborating back in 2021, when Elizabeth was practicing acupuncture at Kenzie’s Vitality Float Spa and Kenzie was starting on her path toward becoming a licensed acupuncturist at Lotus Professional College. We quickly realized we shared two common goals: expanding access to the healing power of acupuncture with more members of our community and creating a collaborative and educational space for Richmond acupuncturists.
Over the past three years, we have steadily increased our reach and reshaped our offerings, progressing toward our mission of providing more accessible entry points to acupuncture within our community. We began with sporadic community acupuncture pop-ups and evolved into a new business we named “Vital Qi.” Our next iterations brought regular partnerships with local yoga studios for large-group acupuncture events, our weekly “Acupuncture Lounge” at TAOU Studio, and an expansion westward as we partner with AquaFloat Charlottesville for an all-new offering. And now we are ready to take the next step.
introducing: the new robinson street acupuncture clinic
Since its inception, our goal has been for Vital Qi to have a space of its own. We wanted to create a permanent acupuncture clinic that would provide Richmonders the opportunity to experience acupuncture in a space that is both intentional and accessible. We are excited to introduce our new permanent home at 6 South Robinson Street. This new clinic space will house Vital Qi’s community-inspired acupuncture offerings in the larger open space and private treatments in two smaller rooms toward the back.
new clinic, new treatment setup, same everything else (for now)
While the space is new and there are big changes to come, much of what you know and love about the Lounge will remain. Below are details for what to expect moving forward:
things that will stay the same:
Small-group, semi-private offering - four separate stations with curtains dividing into “rooms”.
Individualized acupuncture treatments with a licensed acupuncturist.
Same booking system through our website.
For the time being, our treatment cost will remain at $65 per treatment. We will be rolling out a pricing update later this spring which will include new package and membership options.
Payment Assistance will still be available (apply by 03/15 to be considered for the April distribution).
things that will change:
We’re expanding our schedule! As our team grows we will offer more opportunities to receive acupuncture, including during the evening hours and weekends. Stay tuned for details.
For space and safety reasons, we traded out the tables and heat lamps for reclining chairs and heated packs that can be placed anywhere on the body to provide extra warmth.
Treatment times will increase from 40 to 45 minutes (with an option to leave sooner if needed).
Pay in advance when booking. This will streamline our check-in/out process. For information on cancelations and refunds, click here.
A sweet little tea bar with an invitation to linger after your treatment before heading back out into the real world.
New pricing, package, and membership options to be announced later this spring.
what you need to know now:
Our opening timeline is currently in flux as we wait for final furnishings to be delivered and add the finishing touches to cozy things up. In the meantime, those who have signed up for Acupuncture Lounge sessions will continue to meet at TAOU in Carytown until you receive an email/text stating otherwise. (Much gratitude to Kat + Katie at TAOU for their continued flexibility and support.)
We are thankful for your continued support and cannot wait to see you all on Robinson Street.
With Gratitude,
Elizabeth & Kenzie
